At the Heart of the Center’s Work

Areas of Activity

Our research and development initiatives span a range of unique fields,
combining academic knowledge, practical expertise, and professional insights.

Partnerships in the Education Field

The Center formed research and development (R&D) partnerships with strategic partners across the education field. These partnerships sought to address educational challenges by combining research for deeper understanding with the development of tools and learning resources designed to meet a range of needs.

Supporting Research and Development Communities

The Center established and supported professional research and development communities for educators. These communities examined processes and practices within their own work environments to improve educational practice. The support and guidance focused on developing research skills, providing tools for systematic inquiry, and collecting and organizing research knowledge relevant to each field.

Knowledge Development and Implementation

The Center developed professional knowledge and translated it into practical tools and learning resources in collaboration with training and professional development organizations. Throughout its years of activity, the Center transformed research-based knowledge into practical, applicable knowledge by developing tools and learning aids, evaluating their implementation in the field, and adapting them as needed.

Building Knowledge About Partnerships

The Center conducted research aimed at building knowledge and developing expertise in areas central to its work. Among other topics, it explored the relationship between scientific and professional knowledge, ways of bridging the two, and academia–field partnerships—their opportunities, challenges, and possibilities.

Our Approach

Guiding Principles

Focusing on an Educational Challenge

Under the Center’s leadership, the partnerships sought to address complex challenges in education. They focused on developing processes and practices within educational settings by collecting and organizing relevant knowledge and conducting systematic research. Research and development processes were carried out jointly by educators, researchers, and educational professionals, with the support of the Center’s pedagogical research team. Within this collaborative framework, partners jointly identified the educational challenge, defined the partnership’s goals, developed practical tools, and evaluated their implementation.

From Research Knowledge to Practical Tools

As part of the partnerships, existing research knowledge and new evidence gathered in local contexts were made accessible and used to develop practical, readily applicable educational tools. The partnerships worked to create resources that addressed the needs of practitioners in the education field while also contributing to the development of academic knowledge on policy issues explored by researchers working with the Center.

Learning and Partner Feedback

The partnerships were generally structured around ongoing learning and feedback processes and incorporated methods such as practice-based inquiry. These processes enabled the tools to be tested, refined, and improved. Insights from the field were combined with research knowledge and expertise, helping ensure that the tools and practices were closely aligned with Israeli society, culture, and the education system.

Our Work

Partnerships That Led to Change

These partnerships created opportunities for researchers, educators, and policymakers alike. Alongside these opportunities, unique challenges emerged that required maintaining a careful balance, attentive listening, openness, and flexibility of thought. We believe that partnerships like these help build and shape the education profession.

The Knowledge We Created

Knowledge Repository

The knowledge generated through our partnerships has produced a wide range of resources, including academic publications, professional materials, policy briefs, written and recorded media segments, and tools that offer researchers valuable insights into the field of education.
